Today is the International Day of Peace!
Discussions of peace are particularly important in Colombia currently. On August 24, 2016, FARC leaders and government leaders reached a final Peace Accord (this was the result of a continuation of peace talks that have been ongoing since 2012). This accord will be put to a vote of public approval/disapproval (plebiscito) on October 2nd.
Something that has been life-giving for me so far in my YAV year is to see how the Presbyterian church is working for peace at this crucial time in Colombia's history.
